Where the Fox Came From

I thought I would make one of my first posts about the fox in the photo that is my main blog picture.

One morning I spotted this guy from my kitchen window.  I saw some movement on the snow waaaayyyyy out there, about 400 yards away.  I knew in my heart that it was a fox.  I grabbed my camera which I usually keep on the island in my kitchen, and focused in on the movement.  YES!  A red fox was meandering across the snow next to the lake.  He was so beautiful.  His colors really stood out against the white snow on the ground, and they looked so harmonious with the wild grasses that were growing.  Harmonious…… that is how nature is with the earth, harmonious.  If it were not for us humans ripping things up, building things, moving things, destroying habitats, everything would be in harmony with everything else.

Well, back to the fox.  I watched him walk across the snow, snapping photos along the way.  I am grateful for digital cameras because of the amount of photos they allow me to take.  I am a snapping maniac.  I take hundreds of photos every time I have my camera in my hands.  I have to in order to get at least one decent photo.  I know nothing about photography and am lucky that the camera has an AUTO button!

I ended up with a few good photos of the fox.  The one I have on this blog as the main photo I especially love.  I can feel the intensity that the fox is looking at something.  I really think I can hear his thoughts as he watches for the movement of a potential snack.  I imagined him jumping up in the air and diving into the snow to grab the little mole, or vole or????  Just like I have seen on the Discovery Channel.

I watched the fox and kept taking photos until he disappeared into the wild.
